This gathering, hosted in partnership with Wofa Afro Fusion Dance and Fara Tolno of the Kissidugu Foundation, will welcome artists to share in the spirit of African drum, dance and song. The THREE-DAY conference will take place in Spring 2015 in Salt Lake City, a town that boasts a vibrant arts community nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from master teachers and guest artists from Guinea, the Congo, Mali and the United States. The conference aims to impart a deeper understanding of the African culture both through dance and drum lessons, but also through panel discussions with our guest artists. Our conference will culminate with a Dounounba party, where all participants and artists are invited to share what they have learned in class. The Marriot Center for Dance on the University of Utah Campus will play host to our event. This is an event you don’t want to miss! Please join us!
